Sybil Kahn
Sybil died on the 2nd July 2007 following a brief but harrowing illness. No-one anticipated her passing, least of all herself, bright and sparkling to the end. Sybil adopted our village as her home despite spending time in the WRAF, Africa, Wales and Islay, her heart and soul lay in this village and her beloved woodlands and hills.
Within our village Sybil enjoyed the friendship of many. Her greatest love in days past was taking 'Wumpie' her Westie for long walks and chatting to passers-by on the way.
When she retired from working life, Sybil took up the reigns of voluntary work; CABS, CVS, Credit Union all benefiting from her input. There will be few who could say they knew her but many who are better from receiving her knowledge and advice.
In our village, Sybil is missed by many as a long-standing and active member of our Community Council, always first to attend woodland clean-up days.
Her neighbours face an empty house rather than a caring friend, her close friends miss a true companion and we miss a thoughtful friend who still watches over us.
