S.W.R.I. IN MENSTRIE

Calling all ladies!

|d| Menstrie W.R.I - actually Blairlogie & District S.W.R.I. to give it its official title although the majority of us come from Menstrie with a few "outsiders" from Alva and Blairlogie - starts its new season in September.

We meet in the Scout Hall on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.3Opm. We are a friendly bunch and would love to have more members. If you are interested, join us at our first meeting on 9th September when Jim and Hillary Storm will be giving a demonstration of Painting on Feathers. A raffle and cup of tea and our delicious home baking will follow: You will be made very welcome.

Autumn 2009

The 2009/10 session got off to a flying start when we welcomed 5 new members - something of a record. We have had some interesting talks, demonstrations and outings.

At the Triennial Show in the Albert Halls at the end of October, several of our ladies gained high placings with their exhibits in bakery, crafts and floral art. Holly Minty won second place for her chocolate crispies and Louise Bisset won third place for "a face on a plate" in the new children's section. Well done to all of you.

We are now looking forward to the festive season and our Christmas party.
