Menstrie Community Council
Comment from the Chair
By the time you are reading this, I hope that the Woodland Path is well on its way to being completed, allowing everybody to enjoy the beauty of our woodlands in all weathers. I appreciate there have been a few problems during the work but the benefit of having an upgraded surface should give easier access to all. If you have children and currently walk to school with them, try taking the path for a change, giving a safer and healthier route to the centre of the village.
We also expect our new flagpoles and pedestrian crossing to be installed in the next few weeks with new public art to follow. We are working towards reaching an agreement on the Dumyat Centre extension which will provide much needed community space along with a dramatic new facade and indoor areas.
Our thanks to Clackmannanshire Council for the ongoing work in cleaning up graffiti. If you see new graffiti, please telephone Environmental Services: The sooner it is reported the sooner it can be cleaned.
We have also had discussions on the placing of new 'dog bins' within the village and this should happen in the near future. Remember that disposal bags are available free of charge at the Dumyat Centre.
Plans are forging ahead for our Village Fete Week in June and any assistance would be very gratefully received. If you are a business within the Village, please consider supporting this week of events: We are starting from a zero funds base and any support in cash or kind would be more than welcome.
If you enjoy living in this beautiful village, please consider joining our
Village Clean-up day on Sunday 27th April at 2.00 pm.
Meet at the Scout Hall.
Please look out for posters throughout the village giving more details.
