The great outdoors

|d| The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts have all been enjoying activities in the out doors when the weather was fine, making great use of the nearby woods and hills.

Despite poor weather the Scouts had a great time at the District Camp held at Arndean. Unfortunately, because of the very wet conditions on the Friday, the special activities planned for the Saturday for the Beavers and Cubs were cancelled. The scout patrol, taking part in the District Camping Competition at the Bar Wood campsite, did exceptionally well in winning the Clackmannan District Camping Shield.

As a community service project, the scouts, leaders and parents raked and brushed the tarmac stretch of the woodland path and collected seven bags of rubbish from alongside the path and a week later joined other enthusiasts from the village in the national village clean-up project.
