The group will resume fortnightly meetings for 2010 at 7 pm on Mondays in Menstrie Library as follows:

• 11th January
• 25th January
•   8th February
• 22nd February

The set task for January 11th is: "A poem or short story about a historical or fictional character, written in the first person (from the character's point of view)".

Short Story Writing Competition

In connection with Fete Week in June 2010, the Community Council are running a Short Story Writing Competition again. Members of the community are invited to submit a Short Story that is concerned with a rescue situation of any kind. It should be no longer than 3000 words and must be the entrant's own work.

If you have always wanted to write, are interested in putting your creative writing skills to the test and love telling a good story, then here is your chance. Sharpen your pencils and spend the winter months writing!
